Beneath the Stares creates a unique blend of progressive, heavy, melodic music.

The band was formed in Chicago in 2009 by Erik Oldman (ex Avernus, Stunato, Sons of Ra), Lisa Lograsso (ex Stunato, The 28th Day) and Bill Hamning (ex
Avernus, URN, Electric Hellfire Club). Tom Hamning (also of AVM) joined the band in 2011 after helping the band out with tracking on their first full-length release and a few local shows.

Beneath The Stares comes from the tradition of adventurous, dramatic, cohesive well-crafted songs, balanced with memorable hooks, powerful, melodic vocals, pummeling rhythms, and blistering guitarwork. Drawing from a wide variety of musical influences while forging a distinct musical identity, Beneath The Stares is a truly unique act to experience live.

Members of Beneath the Stares have shared the stage with a number of national and international acts including Cradle of Filth, Lacuna Coil, FinnTroll.

Beneath the Stares has played a number of venues around Chicago and most notably the Metal Mergence Festival in 2011
and the Dame Nation Redux Female Fronted rock and Metal Festival at the Portage Theater in 2010.

The band currently plays shows around the midwest, recently opening for Opeth and Katatonia in Milwaukee, and was recently featured on the Femme Metal Records 2011 Melody and Malice Compilation with Arch Enemy, Kittie, and Lacuna Coil and will be embarking on its first regional tour in the spring of 2012

The first full-length album, Controlling the Chaos, was released in October of 2011.
